Perito Moreno Glacier

From the resort town of El Calafate, an 80km drive will take you to Los Glaciers National Park. It is in this UNESCO world heritage site that you can view the Perito Moreno Glacier, the sculptor of the landscape.  There was nothing more sobering to my own problems than standing in the presence of this ice giant and breathing in the sheer beauty of nature.

If you ever make the trip to see this colossal beast, be sure to take the opportunity of a boat ride to get within 200 metres and you won’t regret it!

After the boat, we were driven up to a plateau where we could view the Glacier from above and hike some of the trails in the beautiful national park. After, I enjoyed a picnic amongst the trees and reflected upon my day. Life isn’t bad, and I’m extremely privileged to be able to enjoy such sights.

  1. Your photographs have progressed from amazing to awesome and are making a very good case for a visit to Argentina. You have become part of the Argentinian tourist board,,,if only they knew it!

Never having seen a glacier, these photographs have shown me how much more there is to it than a mere lump of ice. This is a very primaeval piece of kit, unstoppable on its slow, magnificent journey and thank you for the photographs.
